Twilight; That special time when day gives over to night and sets the scene in this unique rendering of a train station. This limited edition print from a watercolor painting by Lotus MacDowell is titled “Twilight Remembrance”. Its background shrouded with the deep greens and blues of the oncoming night shadows. The lights of the building bathe the brick facade with a soft golden glow, which continues to cast light on the street. The sky shows the end of the sunset with a splash of yellows and oranges blending into a vivid deep blue sky.
Train stations at night are full of mystery to me, said Lotus. It makes me curious about who rode them, who met people coming home: what stories could be told if those walls could talk. Train stations seem to be a part of everyone's memories, regardless of where they grew up. This one is in the warehouse area called Glen Elk, in Clarksburg, WV. It was the last stop for the trains.
